NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE SOLDIER'S CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION - 12 1/4" x 15 1/4" certificate for Capt. Jonathan H. Johnson of the 15th New Hampshire Infantry. Dated Feb. 2, 1867 with soldier's scenes bordering script. Johnson was in the 15th NHI from Oct., 1862 to Aug., 1863. He died in Deefield, NH in October, 1863. Document has some staining (see photos) - no folds - good condition.

U.S. MEDICAL ALMANAC FOR THE YEAR 1853 - Published by Dr. D. Jayne in Philadelphia this 64 page almanac (5 5/8" x 9") was calculated for the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. It is loaded with information on disease, medicine and the like. The distributor's label is on the reverse - 'A. Wolf & Sons - New Holland, Pa - Staple and Fancy Dry Goods'. The almanac is soiled, stained has missing and folded page corners but is a wealth of information on medical knowledge in the 1850's. Fair Condition.

CONFEDERATE BOND - CR125B - $1000. Confederate bond showing Jefferson Davis and a view of Richmond. "G. Wojciechowski Lith" is at bottom right. Good looking bond in very good condition. Still retains four of the original interest certificates.

CIVIL WAR STICK MATCHES WITH ORIGINAL WRAP - 3 complete bars of 23 matches (in each bar) with original paper wrapper. These 'lucifers' were broken off the bar as needed. Very good condition.

6TH MICHIGAN CAVALRY I.D. DISC (CUSTER'S MICHIGAN CAV. BRIGADE) - I.D. disc of William Meads from Keene in Ionia County, Mich. Meads enlisted in 1862 and was discharged in November, 1865 so was in the regiment for the full duration (including Gettysburg). Disc has a great patina and is in good condition.

THE DEATH OF GEN. LYON - WILSON'S CREEK, MO. - 1862 Currier & Ives lithograph of 'The Death of General Lyon - He fell mortally wounded at the head of his troops, while successfully charging the Rebel forces at the Battle of Wilson's Creek, Mo. Aug. 10, 1861'. Framed 14 3/4" x 18 1/2". Margin has yellowed with age and a few small stains but colors are still bright and vivid. Lower left corner a bit discolored due to original broken glass (has since been replaced) exposing the print for years, otherwise good condition.

46 STAR U.S. FLAG - Very Nice  approx. 33" x 59" cotton flag. Sewn stripes, printed stars and steel grommets. 46th star represented Oklahoma and was valid from July 4, 1908 to July 4, 1912. Flag is in great condition with very good color - very little fading and no visible holes. Hard to find flags earlier than 48 stars anymore.

FANTASTIC RELIC OF ANDERSONVILLE PRISON - A 37 1/4" long cane made from the stockade walls of the infamous Andersonville Prison. An original old very faded paper tag 4 5/8" long is glued onto the cane and reads: " THIS CANE / Is Made From a Log of the Stockades of the Confederate Prison at Andersonville, Ga. The / Wood is the Yellow (or Pitch) Pine Common to That Country, and by Reason of its Resinous / Qualities is Very Heavy and Durable. / National Cemetery, / Andersonville, Ga. May 15, 1884 / I Hereby Certify That the Canes Made by Mr. John W. Jones Were Made From Timber / Taken From the Old Stockade of the Confederate Prison at This Place, and can be Relied / Upon as Genuine Relics of This Historic Spot. / J.M. Bryant / Seperintendent (sic) ". Cane is in near perfect condition and shows a fantastic aging and color to the wood. These type items rarely become available on the market.
